Transmitter and Transmitter TV don't collect, store or share personal information. There are no accounts, advertising or analytics.
Connecting
When you connect with a connect code, the two ends briefly exchange their network addresses through a connection service so they can find each other. Those messages are encrypted with the code and password, so the service can't read them.
Sound and picture
The sound and picture travel directly between the sending Mac and the receiving Mac or Apple TV. They're always encrypted: a fresh key is agreed for each connection, and the password is part of it. Nothing is recorded or kept by us.
On your devices
Settings such as the connect code, password, buffer and speaker layout are stored only on your own Mac or Apple TV. A Transmitter license is stored only on the Mac it was issued for.
